Maptime Berlin 2025

Hello mapping friends,

It’s that time again: In 2025, we invite you to a session of the popular Maptime Meetup at CityLAB Berlin.

We look forward to inspiring presentations on visualizations, applications, platforms, tools, or hacks.
The main thing is that it’s about maps and (open) data!

We’ll hear exciting contributions, including:

  • Sebastian Meier sharing his experiment with an embroidery robot that stitches maps.
  • Yosef König will be presenting a digital map for urban navigation that offers a critical alternative to commercial platforms like Google Maps, promoting a playful, exploratory, and Slow-Tech-inspired engagement with the urban environment.
  • card game and the WFS Explorer tool – new projects from Berlins Open Data Information Desk (ODIS).
  • The project Pools of Privilege – recently featured in a Berliner Tagesspiegel article that explores where Berlin’s private pools are located and what this reveals about the city.
  • Parking data for Berlin – presented by the city administration, showing how open data supports better mobility and traffic planning.

The event will be held in English. Bring your map- and data-loving friends and come along!

Thanks to our collaboration with ODIS from the Technologiestiftung Berlin, there will be pizza and drinks for you.

When: Wednesday, November 12, 2025, starting at 5 p.m.

Where: CityLAB Berlin, Platz der Luftbrücke 4, 12101 Berlin

We look forward to seeing you there!
