Why technology is not gender-neutral and how it can be designed in a gender-sensitive way are the central questions of the block seminar “Hacking Innovation Bias” at TU Berlin. In the seminar, students build technical art objects on the topic of “Gender Bias in Research and Development”.
The artifacts are created using digital hardware from the Technology Foundation’s Hacking Box and are completed as part of a hack day in the “xHain” makerspace. Visitors of the Kiezlabor can check out the artifacts from the current summer semester, try them out for themselves and get to know the makers.
