“Smart cities are data-driven cities. But who owns urban data and who can decide what becomes public and what remains hidden? Where does the protection of privacy become more important than efficiency or convenience? At a time when people almost permanently leave behind data traces, these questions are highly political. Tactical Tech is a Berlin-based non-profit organization that works at the interface of technology, human rights and civil liberties. The collective offers training, publishes studies and develops cultural interventions on the socio-political debate on cyber security, privacy and data ethics.
